I had a couple broken keys on my keyboard and order a replacement one. Well when removing the old board I couldn't get the keyboard(ribbon) clip out and used a little to much force and it broke in half. Does anyone know how I can get a new one or if there is anything else I can do to repair it?
I've already contacted Gateway and their response was send it in which I'd rather not do.

    Thanks.

I was working on an HP laptop and there was a little plastic retention clip about 1mm thick. I gently tugged on it and it broke off from the motherboard. Only way to fix it was probably with some sort of glue -- i ended up shipping it to HP and they just replaced the motherboard (free under warranty)

I hate keyboards with just the bare ribbons, i like dell d series latitudes that have an end piece that snaps into place. much easier to service, much more robust.
