I have not heard my fan come on during the past 2 weeks of using my Gateway 600 notebook. Does anyone know how to get to the fan, and is this a simple process?

The first thing you want to do is find out the core temperature. Sorry, I have no program that will do this for you, perhaps you can find one elsewhere. *Hopefully* the CPU just isn't getting hot enough to need the fan. Is it still under warranty? If not, look under the notebook and see if there is something you can unscrew to remove the fan. Dust, hair, or some other crud might be in there.
