I have had my Gateway 4353GZ for about two years. About every 6 months or so it starts acting up with a message that essentially says "incompatible installation of new hardware or software." Bottom line is that I wind up restoring the system. EVERY TIME I have had this problem, the non-destructive backup has failed. Technical support only offers the old destructive solution. I found a third in the advanced features which was supposed to wipe out the programs but backup the data. I selected it and while something was saved (actually quite a bit of somethings) no actual data files (such as .doc files) were saved.

Anyone else have this kind of issue or is it just me?

    Thanks.
