So my right mouse button started to barely depress last night. It's very annoying to use now. The only thing I can think of happening is when I left my brother alone, and he played some game on the mattress. I remember it getting so hot it burned. So any advice on how to open that part and check it out? I hope he didn't melt something.

Is there any way I can fix this myself? I mean it's not a big enough deal to send in for weeks. I can still plug in a mouse.

Depends if it is melted and where... but your choice is this: open it up and look around and risk voiding your warranty (and risk not even being able to fix it), or take it back under warranty and have it fixed (but the downside here is you'll have to wait a long time, and worry about gateway switching components on you)

just make sure that if you take it back under warranty, that when you get it back you check the screen, hard drives, etc. A lot of times gateway likes to switch out your 200gb 7200 hdd for a 320gb 5400 hdd, and your screen from 1920x1200 to 1400x900.
