What would you guys do?
RAID with
X2-

Or SSD/HDD with

(Using the SSD as the main, and the HDD as storage)

I would get the SSD. But thats just me.
-
i can say I would get the HDD, but if you want an answer that would help you better, you gotta say what you want...
SSD = most speed, but highest cost per capacity (with a limit on capacity)
HDD = less speed (still fast), but lower cost vs capacity with a huge capacity limit -
I'd wait a couple years before buying a SSD, they are still young technology and thus are expensive and rather small in terms of space.
-
Had this same problem a few months ago... went with another 3200 and things are good..... Id say go for another HD and put them in Raid......give SSD few more years and they will be hella cheaper $$$
-
SSD all the way. The best upgrade you will EVER make.
-
Do you really need SSD, and can you do with out the add storage space.
There is a big difference between 32gb and 320gb. -
SDDs probably don't have the heat issues that a lot of 7200 rpm drives have.
-
-
if you can swing the cost hit then you can get a 128gig SSD that will outperform a platter drive for $240 or so (there are cheaper SSD drives that perform worse than platter drives). For that you get better speed (avg), the reliability of no moving parts, less power consumption, less heat, less noise. personally I can't bring myself to pay the cost per Gb yet but it's coming down fast like every other new tech. my goal is two SSDs in a RAID 0...that'd be fun

I'm not in a rush to do it.. but, I'll probably wait it out a little longer.. see what happens..
-
I still can't decide, I was watching a SSD Vs HDD video, and man.. the SSD is insane compared.
-
I don't use a SSD yet, but from what I've been reading they offer better performance than HDs but are expensive. Although price drops are on the way and another question is when to buy an SSD.
NEWS: it seems that SanDisk G3 SSD (MLC) is gonna deliver almost the same (20% less) performance than Intel X25-E SSD (SLC) but 5 times cheaper.
