You do realize that putting it in the Sager forum isn't likely to get the GATEWAY many votes, right? It's like tossing a dolphin into a pool of sharks and telling them to get along or vice versa.

Is this like flame bait or cross-posting? I really don't see any bashing on there, but people might see this and get touchy.

To me, it just boils down to money, the quality of materials, the service, etc etc. I haven't had bad service with Gateway so far. Maybe I'm just lucky.

The sager that is configured is around 2700 with discounted price while the P171X is around 1750 with negotiation (tax and shipping included). For me, I would like to purchase a sager, but I don't see the reason to purchase it, especially on a teacher's salary, especially when I had built a desktop system that may perform just as well if not better.

Of course, when Q2 2009 hits, if all is planned, I would probably be looking and deciding on a new laptop with the new chipset and the cpus coming out that require a different socket. 9 series (which right now seem like the overclocked 8 series from what I'm hearing)(or the 10 series which I'm hoping that it will be a lot better) geforce gpu series with power saving features are coming which I would love to have!

In short, do what you think is best. I'm buying a gateway to save a little money and looking at the long term.
