    How do you all keep your laptop from getting scratched? The Gateway's glossy fronts seem to be a magnet for scratches. It seems as if just touching it leaves a mark.

    ;_;

    I hate you.

    I put it in my backpack and keep the top facing the backpack fabric, not everything else inside, but somehow it still gets scratched.

    I have yet to get scratches on mine either. I've even cleaned the surface with a magic eraser (the mr clean ones) and still nothing

    You might have had something small stuck in the fabric of your back pack and it causes abrasions to your case.

    As to getting rid of them... not sure really. You could check the Cosmetic Mod board for help, but i think (and dont quote me on this) some people have use the auto scratch removing wax to aliveate some smaller abrasion marks

    Try and find some sort of polishing agent to take out scratches, and then you could buy and apply one of those clear (or opaque color/graphic) vinyl skins to protect it. The vinyl skins are very thin and do not mar the surface.

    Sounds perfect
    Is there some specific site that specializes in skins like that?

    There's a few. I've only ever really looked at the graphic/art ones over at gelaskins.com, but over in the notebook cosmetic modifications forum they might have some more options. I would just google "laptop skins" or some variant and go from there. I believe you can get a decent clear set for $15 with palmrests included from skinweaver, which is the most reasonable price I've seen.
