So I have a 6831 FX. I have had it about a month and a half. I noticed this from the beginning but it is starting to bug me now. When I get up close to my screen, I see a bunch of pixels all over my screen that aren't working. I can kinda push it with a a little bit of pressure and it goes away. But this "dead" pixel moves. It is like I can move the deadness to where I want to. These are all over my screen too.

    Does anyone else have this?

No I have not noticed any problems like this with mine. I had my P-6831FX since about 2 months now. I wonder if maybe you just got one with a bad display.

I have 2 stuck pixels together that are red when the display is on some colors. I have left udpixel program running all night on them with no effect, Also i have tried hitting the screen with a ds stylus with no effect. I have a samsung screen which is also crap at any angle apart from straight on.

Couldnt go back to BB cuz they havent had any since but did contact gateway and they said they would get it in for repair.

Sorry not me either. My screen is flawless for the fact the viewing angles suck, everything is fine. Sorry to hear yours is having issues.

Try a program that can unstick the pixel.....sometimes it works I used one on My PSP and to my surprise it did work. Their are a number of programs (most freeware) out their. This is one that I found online.......You never know....It may work.

Is there one that flashes the entire screen, because these pixels are all over the place.

Back up your stuff and call Gateway, at least get a ticket started on it. Why take a chance before warranty runs out.

See if you can get swap option from BB, chances are not but asking is free.

I'll go ahead and talk to gateway support. It has been a few months since I bought this laptop from BB so I doubt they will do anything for me.

Well I thought I will go ahead and update this thread incase any other person runs into a similar problem. I sent my laptop back to gateway early June (I think the 9th) and got to back July 8th. So it was gone for quite some time. They called me before shipping it back and told me they first replaced the screen which did not fix it, tried a new cable, and finally swapped out the motherboard which finally solved the problem. Even though it was gone for quite some time, I am very pleased not to see all these annoying pixels on my screen anymore.

I have a 6860, and there is ONE dead pixel smack dab in the middle of the screen. It's annoying to say the least. I will be making contact with Gateway ASAP lol. I've only had the laptop for four days, so I might just try and swap it at BB where I bought it.
