Looking for someone's somewhat experianced opinion. It's my first laptop and I know to a certain point screen bleeding is a given with thin displays. My question is, will this get worse over time or Is it a return?
Pictures below are a bit exaggerated because of lighting conditions. While you can't see the left portion while looking directly at the screen I figured I'd ask here before driving to BB.
Please ignore the brown, it's not there.

I had the same problem, and went the same day I bought my Laptop to BestBuy, the Geek Squad guy didn't want to switch it for me, he told me it's normal. I only see this when the screen is black and I see it from the left side, just like your pictures show, but the screen bleeding is from the right side. I also notice that sometimes it changes to a different shape when I reboot my system. Still Geek Squad told me it's normal, (haven't own a new PC or Laptop for 5 years), and I also want to know from the guys in here... it's normal as the guys from Best Buy say?

well....i had a screen that had bleed that could be seen at all times and through any background i had. about an inch and a half across the bottom of the screen, so i got rid of it.
if it's bare able and you don't mind...then you can keep it, but if your with in your 14 day return period...then i would really be testing it to make sure it is really what you want. and that usually means....... installing most of your favorite software and then letting friends and family look at it and see if they notice anything. it's your money and you want to be the one creating the screen bleed. (over time that is) not fresh from the store. -
That actually isnt bleeding, it seems to be what I had on my first P-7811. According to my research, it seems likely that it is an air bubble trapped under the polarized film of the LCD.
If you try "wiping" it you will notice that it shifts from wherever you apply the pressure. I noticed mine shift a lot whenever I rebooted also, this seemed to be mostly due to closing the laptop shifting the air back into its "default" position. -
No way to get the "air bubble" out, is there?
To the OP, can you take a picture from the front? -
I bought one today and it has the same thing but in 2 oval shapes. The unit is going back tommorow and debating if i will get another or just wait for something better

mine does that too but its in the middle of the screen and when i look at it from a right angle. so this is actually my THIRD 7811fx. I exchanged my first one cuz games froze on it. and the second one i took back because it has the same screen problem you are describing. guess what the third has the same problem too. i am guessing they all have this LCD issue. my first one probably had it too, just that i didn't notice it. but I don't mind it cuz i only look at my LCD from the front. BUT i am concerned that bleeding will get worse over time to the point where i can see it appear even when i am facing my LCD head-on.
I am going to keep running my machine and see if it gets worse in the next few days. what i would really like to know is what is the cause of this problem, and if it will get worse over time.
if it doesn't get worse, ill most likely end up keepign this unit since chances are the next one will have the same problem...or something worse -
Mine seems to have it as well, my brother says one can only see it when looking from the left and on black background. Otherwise the notebook is doing really well through the testing.
I don't mind, as I don't look at the screen from the left side, thus if all other tests are fine, I will settle with this "little flaw". -
i hope i get a good lcd screen
Screen bleed p7811 fx how much is too much?
