    Hi,

    I was wondering if anyone could help me ?I have had a Gateway MX8716b (model PA6A) for a while now (2nd hand) and it has worked flawlessly until now.The problem is when i start the laptop most of the time i get all sorts of lines and distortions on it , also resolution seems to change (as part of the distortions).It seems to sort it self out after few moments and then it works fine.I was wondering if this is a prelude for something more sinister?inverter going perhaps?.Any help greatly appreciated ,thank you in advance.

    Well i have come to conclusion that this is a Intel graphic chip problem as it seems if i take the CPU cooling element (which happens to cool the GPU as well) off and press the chip ,then put it all together again and presto! it works for a while .Does anyone know if it is possible to re-glue / re-attach the chip (as it seems to be glued not soldered on???)??? Anyway im off to play with the laptop again hehe, cheers.
