Does anyone know the screw size for the following items or where to get them?

    Hard drive bay (drive mounting)
    Mini PCIe slot (half-height slot)

I have a second drive in the laptop already and I moved two screws over to it setting up in a diagonal like I should but I would feel better having all 4 holes occupied. I am looking for something to occupy the half-height slot. Probably an Intel Turbo Memory card (found a 4GB half-height on ebay) so I will need screws to hold it into place.

    Thanks for any information.

Actually those hard drive screws are too long. I got a bunch of M3 x 3mm for my friends E1705 to hold the drive rack in place. I took a couple of extra and tried them. They won't allow the drive rack to fit back into the laptop correctly.

Now then I will check out and locate the minipcie screws though. Thanks.

EDIT: I think I need 2mm length on the hard drive bay now that I go back to compare the two.

the best way to check how long they are, is just unscrew one from
the drive and compare to the one your friend gave you.

M3 x 3mm is standard, perhaps the screw head is to large and that's
why they don't fit in the bay.

No. The screw wouldn't go flush with the caddy and was clearly 1 mm too long. I compared it against one of the ones in the drive. Anyways I'm going to go screw hunting to be sure. It is very possible that the ebay seller sent me M3x4mm screws by accident which could of worked in the same spot for him on his E1705. I think the local Lowes store may have some since the last time I was there they had a whole isle(sp?) dedicated to different screw sizes. I'll take one of each and bring them with me in a plastic bag.

yea, there is always possibility the seller sent you longer screws.
take one from your drive and compare it to the ones in the Lowes
store, that's the simplest way to find right size.

    cheers...

    Flyn,

The price is little too high, isn't it? But if you need ones
    then you have to pay.

    Cheers...

Actually that isn't as bad as another guy I paid. Someone else that I got them from charged more for shipping than this guy is for just the screws and he is doing free shipping. Now then I just need those dang minipcie screws. The local Lowes didn't have any that would work.

Considering you really don't need them, four bucks is good :) I like everything to be perfect.

    Shinji,

sorry to hear you didn't get the 2,5mm ones. you might try any local
electronic service and ask for them, there. Also, if you have laying
around any broken Walkman or similar thing, you can search for such
    screws inside them.

Actually I found a seller selling M2.5x3mm screws on ebay so I hope that his are the right one. If not and I absolutely have to I can try to special order it from this one site but they usually impose a $25 service fee.

Yep, 25 bucks would be too much for these little ones. Don't you think?

On a similar subject, would anyone know what size of screws are used for holding the bottom part of the chassis on? I mean the larger ones that are not on the panels, but go farther in?
