This is my first time dealing with a Gateway and I didn't know you had to create your own Applications and Drivers CDs until after the fact. I just assumed that came with the Systems Recovery CD. Anyway, I did a clean install of XP Pro on the laptop and cannot, for the life of me, find the correct remaining drivers for the following:
- Broadcom 802.11g Wireless Network Adapter
- Intel 82801DBM AC'97 Modem Controller (ICH4-M B1 step)
- Intel 82801DBM AC'97 Audio Controller (ICH4-M B-1)
- Intel Extreme Graphics 2 Video Adapter and 3D Accelerator
If anyone knows where I can get the correct drivers for those devices, your help would be greatly appreciated. If anyone out there owns another MX7340 with a copy of the Drivers CD, I'd be glad to pay for it. Thank you.

I have this same laptop. Have you tried doing a system restore and making the driver cds and then putting xp pro back on the system.

If you deleted the recovery partition there is no way to recover drivers or software. w/o it. You will need to search for drivers for each component separately.
If the recovery partition is still there you can download the recovery cd app and it will create your drivers-software recovery CDs...here is the link for that app:
ftp://ftp.gateway.com/pub/hardware_support/drivers/apps/medialess/Create_DRV_APPS_CD_Update.exe
Good luck!! -
try my site. see if the drivers work there. Look in my signature.

The intel site should have your drivers for the intel stuff. Google for the broadcom drivers for your wireless. I just installed new drivers and operating program for the wireless but I can't remember if I got it off the gateway site or elsewhere.
