So I have a Gateway P6831FX, and I installed a Blu-ray drive in it. It works great, and I love watching my Blu-ray movies on it! I bought an HDMI Cable, so that I could connect it to my 32" HDTV, so that I could watch the movies on there, but when I do that, it doesn't setup at the right resolution. I've tried looking on how to add a custom resolution, but I didn't have any luck. My TV has a resolution of 1366x768 at the most, but the only res closest to that is like 1200x720 or something like that. So is there a way I can change this? My TV is by Vizio if that helps any.

actually if you can run your tv which i know you can at 1920x1080i as in interlaced youll want to watch the movies at that rez not the native rez of your tv . Blu rays run at both 1080p and i so try and make a custom rez for that and see what happens . before i got both my 1080 ps i used to have a 42 inch lcd that ran at the same res as yours 1366x768 and when i played movies through my ps3 they looked amazing at 1080i and pretty exactly like they do at 1080p on my desktop 42inch monitor.

Is there a program that I can use to setup the custom resolution? Cause I know that the default settings doesn't have anything, and the nVidia Control Panel doesn't either.

editing the nvidia .inf files might do that.

    look at this para :

    HKR,, NV_Modes, %REG_MULTI_SZ%, "{*}S 1400x1050x32 1600x1024x32 1600x1200x32 1920x1200 1920x1440 2048x1536=1F;1400x1050x8,16 1600x1024x8,16 1600x1200x8,16=3F;640x480 800x600 1024x768 1152x864 1280x768 1280x800 1280x960 1280x1024 1360x768=7F;{405-42E,609-845}S 1920x1200x64 1920x1440x64 2048x1536x64=1F;1600x1200x32=20;1280x768 1280x800 1280x960x32 1280x1024x32 1360x768=380;1600x1200x64=3F;1280x768x64 1280x800x64 1280x960x64 1280x1024x64 1360x768x64=3FF;1152x864x32=780;640x480x64 800x600x64=7F;"
    HKR,, NV_Modes, %REG_SZ_APPEND%, "1152x864x64=7FF;1024x768x32=F80;1024x768x64=FFF;"

actually it includes 1360x768 which very similar to what you ask.
this is from the l2g 177.66 modded .infs

i haven't played with those res. before.

So wait, there are modded .infs out there? Ya I don't know if that value for 1366x768 is there, but in the nVidia Control Panel, it's not. Is that the only way to change it?

Look at TV manual and look the supported resolutions via HDMI cause if it doesn't support you can do nothing.
I can remember the first time that i connected TV it automatically set the native TV resolution( no need to adjust anything accept color, contrast and stuff like that).
I have a Sony KDL-32U3000 and i can set it at native restitution 1360x768.

    it looks great.

I'm using 177.66 rivers with modded INF
