    Hey guys,

I just ordered a refurbished 7805u from EBAY, and also ordered a 320GB Western Digital Scorpio Black hard drive from NewEgg.

What steps do I need to take to setup Raid 0 on this laptop? If this has already been asked, or there is a guide somewhere, please point me in the right direction! Thanks! :D

Also, (and this might answer my first question) I saw that someone linked someone to a P-7805u manual in another thread, but now I can't find it. Does anyone have the link? thanks!

    Hello Earitub,

How to set up the raid0 you can read here. Remember to burn the recovery discs frist. How to do this you will find in the manuals. Also you will find them on the drive C: in the book folder, if I remember right.

    Cheers...

What did you set the stripe size to and how did you split the volumes with your two 320GBs, as opposed to the two 200 GB drives he uses in the guide?

I have two 500GB drives. The partition C: is 50GB large and the stripe size 16kb,
the D: is about 32GB large, the E: and F: partitions are 425GB large each. All three ones have the stripe size 128kb. Hope it helps.

    Cheers...

Thanks for all the advice Martee. I should be getting the laptop the end of this week. After I stress test it under Vista (what it should already have installed) to ensure that the GPU and CPU are holding up well, I will attempt to get the Raid 0 setup and installed Windows 7 64 bit (my OS of choice :) )

I am sure you will see me up here again if I have issues with it. haha :p

Well, I'm sure you won't have any problem with it. Also the Win7 is great I have it on my M6850. Good luck and let us know when you get your new toy. :)

    Cheers...
