You sure you installed the 64bit Windows 7 RC?
Try the 32bit drivers and see if they work. -
Yes, I listed them in my post.
There are all suppose to be 64 bit.Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -
Where did you download the RC?

)
I said, perhaps you've installed the 32bit version of Windows 7.
Try the 32bit drivers. You've only tried the 64bit drivers. I'm almost willing to put money on thisLast edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -
It sounded like you were trying to load a 32 bit nvidia driver but I guess you are loading a 64 bit version based on your first post. Check to make sure it is showing 64 bit in system properties.

I stand corrected.
Where did you download the drivers from? -
Nvidia

and this forumLast edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -
can't believed you people simply won't read. there is a sticky with all the nvidia driver. anyway, the nvidia 185.85 is so buggy and a lot of people have the same problem as you that can't install 185.85. including me. below is the link to dox's nvidia driver, which works much better. i am using window 7 rc too so the driver has been tested and working ^^.

My next suggestion would have been to search the forum to see if anyone else has had the same problem. This forum is supposed to be friendly, please don't make it otherwise. -
If you read my post, you will have seen I already tried those drivers.
Next time, have a little courtesy.Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -
FYI, I had the exact same problem, and told MS about it, they told me to submit a bug report to NVIDIA, which I did.
My fix was simply to manually install the NVIDIA driver through device manager, which did work.
The good news is that the performance of 185.85 on Windows 7 is significantly better than the stock driver MS provides. -
Thank You very much, Starcub.
Your method worked and I have the driver installed.
