I have been pulling my hair out trying to get Shogun 2 Total War to run on my 6860FX. Immediately after seeing the copyright splash screen of the game I get a BSOD. I have updated my drivers to the best of my ability (Gateway is horrible with updates). On the forums there they suggest updating the BIOS which is ridiculous and I don't even think one exists.

So I was wondering if anyone here has had success playing the game on a 6860FX or similar gateway series. It's infuriating because I tried the demo first and it worked flawlessly.

    Oh and it's a 6860FX with an upgraded 9300

If you haven't updated your BIOS in a while or to the latest, working version, you should.

Now, these are the steps you should take:
1.) Verify game integrity on steam
    2.) Update graphics card
3.) Set game's processor affinity and priority to higher/more
4.) Check your temperatures to make sure they are within system limits

thanks for the help but sadly:
    1. Did it
    2. Did it
    3. I suppose I can try this
    4. They are good, I don't even get into the game for them to heat up ><

And I would update my BIOS but I don't think one exists....this is what I have
