Should I ship it to get serviced?

    Hey guys,
Im running my p172x fx. I noticed this the first time I booted the machine, but a friend told me to ignore it. Im getting an error on boot up

PXE-E61 Media test failure, check cable
    PXE-M0F Exiting PXE ROM.

but it does not seem to be affecting anything. Both hard drives are recognized, and the error occurs whether or not there is a cdrom/usb drive in the computer. I emailed tech support and they told me first to remove and reseat the hard drives. I did that, but I am still getting the error. Now they are telling me I need to ship it to them so they can repair it.

Is this a serious problem? Is there something else I could try first? Should I send it in? The reason I hesitate is because this is the machine Im doing all my work on for my dissertation and losing it for a week (or more!) would be problematic.

    Thanks for any suggestions/advice

That is attempting to boot from the network. You can ignore it, or you can change IP booting to your last boot priority in your BIOS.

This is not a defect or a problem in any way though.

    2. CDROM/DVD
    3. IDE HDD
    4. USB KEY
    5.USB HDD

    Excluded from boot order
    USB ZIP

    So what do I change?

Have you setup RAID? If so you want to move number 8 'PCI SCSI' up to the 3rd position. PCI SCSI is your RAID controller.

I too am having that screen come up during the boot cycle. it shows up after the ctrl+I screen which is the raid config. never saw it before til I started running raid 0. my boot order is the same as death's... so should we bump up PCI SCSI to the 3rd spot to correct this issue? noticed I said issue b/c its not a problem after checking hardware devices, this issue just adds an extra 6 or 7 secs to our boot cycle.

btw I'm running a 6831fx just an FYI.
