Now first off, i decided to make a separate topic cause i thought it would be less messy (the main P-7805u topic is kinda crowded)

Now, i actually need a laptop in a few months not now, i was going to buy the 7811 in August but decided to hold off because i heard of overheating problems. Last month i thought i was going to buy the HPx16t then decided on the Asus G50x2 then decided on the M17 then decided not to buy any laptop.

So i then looked at the BB flier and saw the P-7805u, and its much cheaper than the other laptops spec for spec.

    My questions are this.

What are the differences between the 7811 and P-7805u?

What is a good laptop cooler to get from Best Buy?

Is the best buy warranty worth it since i heard gateway service sucks?

Buy now, or wait until the summer?

I plan to game for hours a day on my days off from work, will overheating cause a problem?

Would overclocking be possible for CPU?

The CPU is 2.23 is that bad? big difference between a 2.5?

I keep hearing different things about the Specs? The RPM is 7200 right for the hard drive? and ram is DDR3 NOT 2?

    differences between a refurb 7811 and 7805

    :7805 has 1gb 9800 gts vram and 7811 has 512ram 9800 gts vram
you won't be able to make use of the 1gb due to bit and chipset limitation so it's practically there as a gimmick/ selling point
:a 7811 refurb will save you around 300-400
: last but not least it was stated that my warranty would be a 3 mth warranty but after calling up gateway, it is actually a 1 yr warranty... wonderful isnt it?

I think there is one 7811 for sale here at NBR forums right now. The seller is motivated and it is still under warranty iffin I remember correctly. Why not give that a shot? Save you some cash and gett he SAME performance in the process. :)

if you read the paper correctly... the warranty is non - transferable (seneca data), but somehow when i contacted gateway, mine has a 1 yr warranty from the old owner (not flynn, but the first owner that makes it a refurb) weird heh
