I bought a new Gateway LT3119u last week. This notebook takes over 8 hours to fully charge with the notebook left on but not using it. If I use the notebook while charging it barely charges at at (maybe 5% for per hour). If I close the notebook or shut it down it charges pretty quick (about 2 hours time). I already had the battery exchanged as the first one won't charge past a certain percent. I tried deleting the microsoft acpi battery monitor and let it redetect and install but to no avail. Does it really takes this long to charge these notebooks/netbooks?
BTW, I tried my larger 90 watt Acer/Gateway charger with the same results.

If it's available, try to recalabrate your battery. I think you can do it through the Bios, it takes awhile, do it overnight.

Unfortunately it isn't available on this notebook. I did try the charge and fully discharge cycle a couple of times but it didn't help.
