    Hi,

I've been experiencing rather slow internet connnection with my brand new Gateway Laptop, and thus, i tested the internet connection with my PC. The internet on the PC works fine, but the internet on the laptop keeps decreasing to 28kb/s from above 200kb/s. I tried contacting the tech support. They told me to download and install a driver but when i install the driver, the laptop says the current driver is best one.

Anyone have had this problem and knows how to fix it??

    Thanks

Are you on wireless or are you on wired?

On wireless, many things can cut down your signal. As say walls, cordless phones, tv's, and the distance.

Just curious what type of internet connection you have. I am not familiar with a technology that normally does 200 kb/s. (I may just not be thinking straight).

he was saying the download speed was 200kbps... thats common of a 2-3 meg connection. Also keep in mind download speeds depend not soley on your internet speed, but the speed of the servers and connections from which you are downloading.
