So I was in my lecture hall today and took out my 7811 and the guy behind me with the Asus was like "Oooh the FX" and I turn around and said "Oh, good job". I guess many gamers with laptops knows about the FX. Oh, just a side note, using the 7811 for college and lectures works fine, the battery life holds up well.

Hope you then loaded up Crysis and silently showed him how you hit 30-40 FPS on battery
-
I can't overclock on battery >.< I did not realize this until I got home. I kept trying to overclock it on battery and it wouldn't let me lol. Next time I'll show them Crysis on the FX

Yea, I use it in lecture also. And I actually don't play any games in the middle of it! (amazing, it takes much skill and practice)
If you undervolt it, you can get almost 4 hours out of that baby, with screen at the lowest (which in my opinion is still fairly bright, I could go dimmer if it allowed)
Also in the LAN group I joined at my college (UCF) there are 2 or 3 others with FXs, that I have seen.
Quick question, are you OC'ing the stock CPU? -
Stock CPU can't be OC. Mine is undervolted though =]
So I was in my lecture hall....
