And I was wondering, how much do you guys think I can sell it for?

its flawless, there is nothing wrong with it at all and it shows almost no wear.

oh and if I install windows 7 will it boost up the value or should i just leave the vista?

    thanks in advance!

You did check eBay didn't you? About $500 there. I would expect that you would not get much more than that. Although it was one of the best laptops I have ever used and is worth more in my opinion.

used and bone stock these are not worth all too much. Even upgraded not too much either. Don't throw money into it as you will not recoupe thse costs.

When you upgrade it is hard to tell. The biggest problem is where the upgrade matters to you it may not be all that important to the buyer. look at the costs.

lets say you could get 500 base, you would add 200 for the SSD, 90 for the ram, 225 for the x9100 and we will say the 500 GB was there. That is 1,015.00 total. With windows 7, which probably added another 100 to the cost, you are talking maybe worth maybe 800, 900 if 1920x1200. you could get a BB G73sw for 1299. Each generation the value goes down too.

Even with the P79 and quad I wouldn't expect to see 1,000.00. The only save grace is there is a market for used 1920x1200 systems. some people, like myself, just have to have the higher res. Albeit this is a limited market.

I will never recoupe the investment, that is not why I've or others have upgraded. With computers you have to upgrade to satisfy an immediate need not for current, let alone future, investment..............

I watched ebay for a good month straight recently. Depending on condition ect and some upgrades I saw them go for anywhere from $375 (Stock) to $675 (upgraded CPU, Bigger HDD ect, but no SSD).

They are 3 generations old at least, not worth too much at this point. it missed the 260m, 360m and 460m, now it is about to miss the 560m etc..........
