Well I found out today my replacement work lappy is going to be an XPS m1330 with an 8400gs in it. About the only thing I play on the road is WoW and it will handle that just fine so I've put my 7811 up for sale here on the forum. Going to update my desktop at home instead.

Just wanted to thank the crew here for helping me utilize and learn about this awesome machine. Good luck to everyone!

Yeah the size and weight of these gaming notebooks after awhile luggin it around, just kill the deal, also the battery life. Hopefully manufacturers make it more mobile and better battey but I like having a multimedia experience on a 17 inch screen or else I'd just by a PSP or gameboy.

They're called desktop replacements for a reason. :) And I don't want a desktop, even though it would likeley be a lot cheaper to have one that scored 20k+ on 3dmark, than trying to force my laptop to :p

bigddy, good luck on the sale.. gave ya a bump today, and made sure they know it's a good deal. I'm sure it will sell quick-like!

Wow... for all the people that bought the FX series there seem to be alot of people jumping ship all of the sudden.

I wonder if its some kind of weird super virus making people allergic to the FX's :p

I place all blame on dell for the creation of this evil bio weapon :D

The X305 was a serious consideration for me. The higher screen resolution and lower price of the 7811 trumped the Harmen Kardon speakers. (Subwoofer? Puh-leeze!) Still not regretting my decision.

If it makes you feel better I plan to keep mine for the next 3 years and then pass it to my daughter until she breaks it. So I expect to have this puppy for 3.5 years give or take a few months.

I did this with my XPS Gen 2 and I'll likely also do this with the 7811. It's too expensive to stay current with the latest tech. Hopefully the 7811 lasts for the long haul. I do take good care of my stuff, but you never know what could happen. :(

Keep your bio-weapons away from my 2887! :p

    Hehe thanks.

I had no complaints with the notebook at all. The niche it was filling has been filled by a more suitable device and frankly I wanted the desktop back. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.
