Does anyone know if the Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Notebook PCMCIA card will fit in the Gateway P-6831FX slot??

I've notice that the card it self is cut off like an L shape design and normal pcmcia card don't fit it.?

I was looking in upgrading my sound system. Since standard PCMCIA card don't fit it.

I remember people saying that it DOES fit, but it sticks out a lot from the slot itself and it doesn't give admirable performance.

    you've made some mistakes there:
for PCMCIA, it called "Creative PCMCIA Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Notebook" and this doesn't fit in p-6831fx
    [IMG]

for express card, it called "ExpressCard Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Notebook", this is the one you should be buying

the express version is the one you want. i have one on order, a little pricey but ive heard it makes a huge improvement, the best with a headset or 5.1/7.1 speakers

by the way, if you plan on using 5.1/7.1 with this card, you need the dongle, which is sold seperately.

I thought I just give the audio an upgrade a boost since the internal sound card from the P-6831FX is lacking surround sound 3D.
