May we assume you are plugging your external speakers in the "headphone" plug?

Yeah, but you only hear 2 speakers... and the subwoofer doesn't work at all.

Were these speakers intended for a desktop/tower computer with multiple output connections (front/rear/center)?

    Brand/model of the speakers?

I'm supprised the sub isn't working as they usually take their signal straight from the pre-amp on the primary speaker's input.

Do your speakers have any sort of settings that you can change such as "stereo", "surround", etc?

Also, in Control Panel, Sound, Playback tab you should see 3 choices -

Speakers, SPDIf Interface, and NVidia HDMI Output.

If you click on "speaker" and then choose "properties", you get more tabs - select "enhancements". Does checking "virtual surround" make any difference?

Those are my suggestions. Unfortunately, I don't have speakers near-by to test on my 7805u.

My bad, subs were working forgot i had my bass turned off from the other day. but yeah i have the Logitech Z-5500 5.1 speakers.. like the center and one of the speakers will work.. rest of them won't and it does have Multi outputs.. with black output thats the only way they will work at all with the laptop.. and john i did try doing the different enchancements no luck with that... why i was thinking they made like a USB to Audio with 3 outputs.. but i didn't know if it would work with what im trying to do..

    Nice speakers, SiZcO -

Looks like you are serious about your audio.

From the manual, it appears you are in luck - it says you have s/pdif input and the P-7805u has s/pdif output. Do you have a cable for it?

That's because we both have s/pdif inputs, too!

I have a Logitech X-530 (I think that's the number, but it's 5.1 none the less) and my set of speakers came with something like this 5.1 Game Console Adaptor. Works for me :)
