Good luck. I have a 7811FX with a newly installed version of XP x64 on it with no sound.

To the best of my knowledge noone has gotten their sound to work on these models (7811 and 6860) after installing XP x64.

The sound is Conexant HD Audio 221.

Id love to see if someone can resolve this. The first obstacle is finding a version of MS Universal Audio Architecture (MS UAA) that can be installed.

KB888111 which is used for XP x86 will not install.
KB901105 which is the XP x64 version says its allready included in a previous service pack (likely SP2) and wont install.

That leaves us with several unrecognized devices that will not even accept a driver until the UAA issue is sorted out.

You could try using Driver Max. You do have to register but its all free.

    http://www.drivermax.com/download.htm

I have had much success with this tool when downgrading HP laptops to XP from Vista which HP have not released drivers for... typical! Mean while I'll have a search for you. Let me know how you get on.

Personally I hate those driver websites. They routinely give pisspoor information on what the latest driver is.

Also its not that simple. The MS UAA needs to be updated/addressed before ANY audio driver can be installed.

I wish it were that simple :(
