    Sound drivers after updating BIOS?

    So on my buds laptop (same as mine) we updated the BIOS to 17, and now his mic is not recognized (internal one). Was there a fix or something? because i tried reinstalling the drivers and that did not help me at all (and it owuld not install normally, i had to do it in device manager with the infs)

    yes.

    Originally it did not, but i got the drivers working through device manager. I cant get mic to work though.
    It did before the bios update.


    Also, he's overseas ATM, and he is not very computer literate. Like he could install something or use an automated bios flasher and thats it xD

    Right click on the speaker icon at the lower right corner, choose recording devices, be sure that the Conexant High Definition audio 221 is working. If not enable in the properties.

    I doubt it is a hardware problem since your headphone is working. Could be just some software problem.
