I just put my computer into standby, and I couldn't help but notice a quiet high pitched buzzing noise coming from the bottom of my 7426gx (center vent, to the left of the RF sticker). I am on battery (at about 25%), not charging. When I woke her up, the "buzz" stopped, followed by the acceleration of the harddrive (I love that sound :)). I put it into standby again, and it continued the sound. I have not ever noticed this on AC, but I have not yet tried after knowing that the sound is present.
Because I have never had any hardware problems, I presume that this is nothing abnormal, but better safe than sorry ;)
    Thanks.
