I've noticed a rather strange problem with Internet Explorer on my laptop.

After an unknown period of use IE7 won't connect to web pages - everything else, MSN, Yahoo, Skype and Firefox etc continue to work perfectly.

To re-enable IE7 I have to reboot the pc and it all works fine again then at some point the web pages will time out..

It's not a big deal really, as I simply switch over to Firefox when that happens but it is annoying

    Any ideas?

    Shotguning here:

Disable your firewall and see if it persists.
Check port forwarding for your router (if applicable).

I believe I'm just running windows firewall and would assume (I know that can be a mistake) IE7 would be automatically OK'd?

I'll certainly give it a go this evening though ;)

Well I disabled all firewalls and the problem still exists - probably need to repair IE7 or suchlike?

I'm having some issues with TF2 as well, getting connection timeouts on certain servers..
