I'm trying to get the digital audio to work out of my T-1616. Does it output through the headphone jack? If so, what kind of adapter do I need, optical or digital coax? Also, does anyone know if or how you can output 1080i through the hdmi port?

    thanks

I played around with this today. It does output digital through both the headphone jack (via optical output) and HDMI.

Right click on the speaker icon and click on "Playback Devices." It'll show you the speakers, the optical output and HDMI. Make the one you want to use default.

Weird thing, though was that after you change the output, it takes some playing around to make it work. I found nudging the volume slider (the software one on the tray, not the physical one on the computer itself) forces it to go to whichever output you specified.

I tried it with a DVD and windows media player. All system sounds go through the digital outputs. Sounds great, too!
