    Hi folks,

You guys have always been very helpful to me in the past, so I thought it would be worth it to come here for some help on an issue that is plaguing me.

Basically, as the subject indicates, the laptop shut off and will not power on; no LEDs, no spinning, nothing. I'm assuming that the power supply is not reaching the battery, and in fact that battery ran out of juice and died, because when the battery is connected the battery indicator light flashes red.

I tried the trusty method of taking the battery out and unplugging the power, and then holding the power button for 30-60 seconds. Alas, it did not work this time.

I tried chatting online with tech support and then calling, but both times was refused service because my serial number came up invalid for some reason, even though I gave them the correct one and the laptop was purchased in June from Tiger Direct. But you don't need me to tell you that Gateway's support is beyond useless.

Any help at all that anyone could provide me would be much appreciated.

Your power brick may have died, if there's a light on the power brick does it come on? If not, use a voltage meter and check the voltage at the tip.
