Why get 2 ocz sticks when we already have 1 2gb stick in the lappy, they dont need to match, they both just need to be 667.

I paid less for both sticks after rebate than you're paying for that one - and I sold the original two sticks from the laptop for more than what it cost to replace them after rebate. I actually made money on the deal.

OCZ is also lifetime warranty on all of their memory, the memory from Gateway is only covered for the 1 year with the laptop.

I actually only paid $120 each for my of my Hitachi's - and sold the original WD drive for $100. Net was $140 and the 7200 Rpm drives w/ 16MB cache in Raid 0 are smokin' fast. There's a thread over in the hardware forum with benchmarks, but I can attest to the real world performance increase.

I agree with crpngdth2001, I bought the two Hitachi's for around $120.00 after rebate on newegg, set them up in raid0 strip size 32, and they are smoken fast. I bought (2) CORSAIR ValueSelect 2GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) after rebate they came to $46.00ish, I used the extra 2gb stick from gateway to put it in my son's P-6831, so now I am all set, I just need a X7900 or X9000 :)
