Well, ever since I got my 6860fx in July I have used it more than my desktop. I finally want to upgrade the CPU. I first wanted to do this when I got the gateway in July, and the processor I wanted was the T9300. However, now I see there is a T9400. The only difference I see is the T9300 is 800MHz while the T9400 is 1066MHz. What would be the benefit of the T9400? I am pretty sure I will get the T9400 though. Does the motherboard on this gateway 6860FX support a FSB of 1066MHz?

T9400 will not work with 6860fx. You have to go with a penry cpu.
 -

T9400 is a penryn cpu. but only compatible with the montevina chipset.
for a 6860, T8100/8300/9300/9500 and x9000 are the penryn cpus supported by the chipset in the 6860's -

what about the T9600 and X7900 ???
 -

anything with a T will not, but the X7900 will work.
 -

what about all those cpus???

I lied, the older Santa Rosas with a "T" in them will work, the newer second generation Penryns will not work. Anythign in the t7xxx, the X7800/7900/9000, the t8100, t8300, t9300, t9500 will work.

HEHE.. that's what i thought...

interesting enough the table indicate that t9400 and t9600 will work.

 Pretty doubtful.
