I just installed my T9600 processor and the cores are runnig at 43 - 63 degrees C. I know it runs at 35W compared to the p8400 stock which came in my computer. I used AS5 thermal paste and I seemed to apply fine. Is that just normal?
EDIT: I notcied that SpeedFAN has a built in option to select the warning when the processor is running to hot. I think that is what was giving me a scare with the fire. I just want to be sure that my CPU is not going to blow up! Also, Core 0 is running hotter then Core 1? Is there something wrong there? 62C Core 0. 56C Core 1. And the tempatures seem to be all over the place. BUT! In-Game the performance is so much better, could this be because the game is only using one of the cores?

Above 60 can be a bit borderline. Have you tried with a notebook cooler underneath it?
cheers ... -
Here are my temps for comparison. I have the T9900. The image on the left is 3dmark06 max temp no undervolt and using thermal grease supplied with T9900. The image on the right 3dmark06 max temp, no undervolt with thermal grease replaced with ICD7. Big difference.
I am going to undervolt when I get a chance.Attached Files:

Which t9600 did you get? cause my ES E0 never goes above 60 (unless stress testing) and at desktop it idles at 28-30 depends on room temp and other small factors.
Also I'm using AS5 -
Mine never go above 57, even in l4d 2.

I got a t9600 as well. At first with the OEM thermal grease, it maxed out at around 60'ish. Now with ICD7 that I applied a few months back, she never hits more then 45. I also have a notebook cooler which helps. Idle is 28-30.

i have as5, do you think i should get something else?
-
no. ur temps won't kill the cpu.

hey, i realized whenever i was checking my cpu i was sufficating the fans before hand. if i let them get propper air flow they run about 40 - 50 with a load and 30 - 40 during idle. i purchased a laptop cooling pad xD it will help out alot. THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR HELP!
