I need to return my Targus 180W supply. It's been making more noise than usual lately, and that infernal "flexible" plastic thing at the base of the cord broke and exposed some wiring, so I have to send it in. Does anyone with an upgraded processor still use the stock power supply, and does it have any problems? I'm afraid it will get too hot or affect my undervolt.

i have an 7805 with an x9100 in it and i did have a problem with the original power supply but i sent it in to gateway (covered under warranty). the new one seems to work fine for the past 2 months. i think the first was defective but only time will tell.

I'll wait on it a little then. I pushed the wires back in and wrapped it up tight with electrical tape. I want to play Borderlands at launch, so I won't risk using my old supply. When I have tons of work to do and can't play any games, then I'll send in the Targus.
