I'm using a Logitech MX310 mouse, and when I use the wheel to scroll up/down the 180W targus adapter makes a weird noise (Almost sounds like the mouse wheel scrolling). Anybody ever had this problem? Will I need to return this power supply?

    Is it a wireless mouse?

Logitech MX310 is not a wireless mouse. It is a gaming mouse, my USB ports have the DEFAULT polling rate, it has not been overclocked. I noticed it does it more than when just scrolling. When new pages load in iexplore it makes the noise, as well as when scrolling. It is a mix between a sizzle and a click (I have heard power supplies may make sizzling noises but this doesnt exactly sound like fajitas).

I have several external devices attached (External USB Keyboard/Mouse/Zalman NC2000 on full blast/HDMI port to external monitor/Headphones/I also occasionally use the SD reader and the extra USB port on the Zalman for flash drives) but I thought this power supply would be more than up to the task. My 120W works just fine but since the P7801 uses 125W I figured Id get this little upgrade out of the way, but now the noises its making are worrying me.

Bump, it seems to be sizzling more now, I would definitely consider it more of a 'sizzle' now.

Is this unit considered defective? Am I going to have to send this back to get a replacement? I've only had it for about 3 weeks.

    I'm curious -

where exactly is the sound coming from?

Can you try that mouse on another PC?

The sound is coming from the adapter. It is not the mouse, it will do it even if I'm not using the mouse (Using arrow keys/mouse unplugged). It seems that any time there is a load on the computer it makes a sizzle sound.

I don't know much on the subject, but does anyone think just enclosing a ferrite core around the power cable would do anything?
