Hello, I have previously posted this question on other threads and got no answer to this query; so I would appreciate if any Targus 180W Adapter owner or hardware expert could tell me if using this power brick used with an overclocked p7805u will yield better results in Gaming gameplay (better fps, or better stability or whatnot).
Btw my overclock settings on my GPU is: 716 core/900 mem/1800 shader
I am also undervolting my CPU to 1.100

Thanks in advance for your input.

most likely your limited to the overclock of the chip and not the power available to it. on my old sager 2090 i used a 120 watt PSU for the last 3 months on it and the overclock wasnt any better, the stock was 90 watts.

Have you upgraded your processor or is the whole system stock? If its stock it wont change anything.

There might be too much power draw if the processor is upgraded, but most likely not, unless you have an Extreme edition mobile processor installed it should change anything at all.

I have the Targus 180w and a P9600. I can tell there is no decernable increase in 3DMark06 scores between the the stock and Targus addapter. The same seems to be true of internal temps.

I can say there is a huge difference in the bricks temperature. OC'd with the targus running 3DMark06 the brick is barely warm. The stock brick gets really hot to the touch............

Thanks a lot everyone, very constructive posts. Basically the Targus would not improve gameplay but the actual temperature of the brick/ less hissing. Pro tips guys, cheers.

improved brick temperature would also probably mean better dependability. I am WAY more confident in both durability and power quality than with the stock brick............

yea what he said, thats about all that is gained by upgrading, if its hissing theres a possibility that its drawing too much power, hence it fries.
