would love to see some benchmarks to see if it is better you say

@ 650/900/1500 overclock
-
Oppps.... I guess I downloaded the desktop/non-mobile version of these drivers. But they seem to work fine. lol
-
Updated latest driver links to 177.79.
-
are the 177.79 fast???
-
I'm curious about 177.79 too. I don't want to move on from 177.66 unless there's better stability or other improvement on the latest drivers.
-
I'm confused; Laptop2Go seems to have a section specific to 64-bit Windows; yet you all are using drivers from another set. What's up with that?
I see a v162.52 for Win64; where are you guys getting these? -
Go to the forums on laptopvideo2go.
-
-
haha, Aah.....icic
-
are the 177.79 fast drivers!
-
Don't know, just try 'em!
-
177.79 causes Oblivion to crash for me. Dunno if this is only a problem with the newest drivers, since this is the first time I've played Oblivion since with the default drivers. There very well could have been crashes in Oblivion for several of the past releases, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

Do overclocking the gpu actually help for you guys? I'm currently using 169.09 and according to Ntune, stock settings were at like....I think 500/700? I bumped each one up by 100, and my 3dMark06 score went up by 100 points? I also ran a Half Life 2 Lost Coast benchmark at all full max settings (AA, AF, etc) and I gained 1 fps. Is this right?
-
More or less. OCing of the GPU usually gets you only a few FPS bump.
-
FYI: .79 dropped my 3DM06 scores down by 300 points. In game, seemed choppy, as well. This may or may not apply to everyone, however. It seems drivers have a mind of their own on each individual machine......
-
Just installed .79 and WoW has seen a drop in over 10fps and is very choppy as well.
-
Went back to stock drivers the .79 drivers actually led to a loss in over 35 fps on WoW and it was choppy as anything to boot.
-
upgraded 177.42 to 177.79 3dmark06 went 300pts up no issues so far
-
-
177.79 is giving me poor frame rate on lineage2(dx9 game).
also I cant play my dvds using windows media player.
keep giving me
Can not play DVD
the video may be in use by other application. if all other applications are closed, the video resolution may need to be lowered or the display connection type may not support playback of the dvd.
anybody know how to fix this? -
I would try an earlier driver and see if you still have the same issues.
-
I would like to use windows xp x64 bits cause windows xp 32 bits is olny able to use 3gb of the 4gb that my gateway 6860fx notebook has. The problem is with the sound driver, all the other drivers will work ok but i olny saw at the internet a guide teaching how to use sound at xp 32 bits because of the idt highdef sound support sp2 packge support. Can you guys teach me a way of activating sound at windows xp x64 bits at my gateway 6860fx_ thanks
-
EDIT: uh...I missed the extraction step in the preparation that should probably fix the problem.
Ok, got it working. Quick question though, do I need to keep the downloaded or extracted files? -
no need keep anything.
-
177.83 out
-
It won't let me enable Physx with either the .79 or the .83 drivers. I have the latest Physx driver installed.
What am I missing? -
-
I recently upgraded from the stock drivers that came with my 6860FX to the 175.19 WHQL's with the supposed "shader optimizations", and I haven't encountered any problems thusfar (except for Crysis not running at 60+ fps on very high).
But one thing I did notice was that my idle temps have dropped down. It used to idle around low to mid 50's, but now it hovers around 10 degrees less (in the 40's) while I'm not gaming. Obviously this is good, but I haven't noticed or turned on any powermizer settings in the display settings. I just wanna confirm whether these newer drivers just automatically downclock the gpu while idling? -
yes they do
-
I just reinstalled my OS, and my wifi driver was missing. Couldn't connect to the internet, and no drivers disc was provided by Gateway. Had to download them to flash drive and come back to my PC...
Now I've noticed that I no longer have the webcam box either. Can anyone link my the upgrade for that (can't seem to find it on their website)
Thanks -
Updated with latest display drivers, PhysX drivers and misc drivers.
-
The latest display drivers are swapped, the XP one is the Vista one, the Vista one is the XP, etc. Just giving a heads up.
-
yeah they are swapped around
-
if so, I have an xp machine and I should pick vista 32bit OS to dowload and install then? -
-
Oops my bad. Fixed now cheers guys.
-
haha yeah messed me up for a bit I was like *** why won't it install ahhhh, and then I saw the filename. anyway, we can't be mad at you animal after such a great thread, good stuff
-
anyone got latest intel chipset 3rd pt link?
OP's link doesnt work for me -
Nice, upped my 3D mark almost 200 points from the 177.66 drivers!
-
Thanks again Animal.
-
177.66 no-OC: 8344
177.89 no-OC: 7933
I'm not sure what the difference is but I'm sticking with 177.66 for now. -
I just wanted to check to make sure, but do I use the 8800gts inf for the p7811??
-
-
I dont see a modded inf? Theres a link for a INF enhancer but it doesnt work...
-
I think I found it... Is it just the "modified INF" right beside driver??
-
-
Updated driver links to v177.92 and there are a huge amount of performance benefits with these:
-
Cool! I'll have to try them out! I'll report back with any pluses and/or minuses.
