I've been looking alot at the GTS and the GTX, the only difference at all appears to be the shaders, what i'm wondering is if its possible to actually Flash the Bios of a GTS and make it a GTX similar to some of the 7900 Models.
That or could it possibly be the GTS's are GTX's that couldn't cut it? The only laptop I can think of that actually runs an 8800 GTS is the Gateway, pretty much everyone else (dell, Sager, Alienware) all run GTX's.
What do you guys think? They share the same Clocks, and Bandwidth, but just differ in shaders.

em the HP HDX had u forgot it? And i seen some of the GTX score with the penryn and the one with the GTS. Its just like the difference of the 8600m GT ddr2 and the 8600m gt ddr3. isnt that much of a big deal.

They cannot be flashed to be identical.

Usually lower end chips are higher end chips with manufacturing defects. A batch of GTXs comes off the line with a few bad stream preprocessors, don't pitch them, instead disable the bad chips and call them GTS.

It was very hit or miss if it worked, mainly because some had to be cut because the extra pipes were defective.

Out of curiosity I wonder if these can be Bios Voltmodded like the 7900 GS's, I got some rediculous Clocks in my E1705 I bet the same could be said for the GTS's
The GTS and The GTX.
