I can't find a review for the P-173XL anywhere on the internet. It seems like an incredible deal...I'm just wondering if any of you guys have it and can attest to it's greatness.

Another question...is Gateway's customer service as bad as everyone makes it out to be? I think I read they charge something like 2.00 a minute for help over the phone...is that true?

    thanks

I have a P-172 X FX which is the previous iteration of the notebook... only differences really are 320 GB HDD instead of 400 and no labelflash drive... I like it. I don't think they charge for phone if you have warranty but they have free chat with tech support. I'm not a big fan of their TS though... NBR is usually more useful.

    But yeah. It's nice.

It really depends on what your budget is. If you're willing to hit 2K and up or go for a 15.4 model, a better bet might be the Sager NP8660 or 570TU available at xotipc, powernotebooks, pcmicroworks.

If you do intend to order the 173XL, give gateway a call and get a discount.
