Seems to easy. Im not to sure what the green board mounts too. Doesn't look like there are previsions for it. What do you think?

There's a spot with a little sticky pad right there on the 7811FX, and presumably the 7805 as well. I ordered basically the same thing labeled for a dv9000 HP for my 7805 (dv9000 appears to use the same module and connector). The one (7811fx) I saw looked as though it had plastic standoffs that could have had screw bosses inserted but they weren't present on that machine. The hard part here is disassembling the laptop enough to get to that spot. The whole thing basically has to come apart to get there.

Personaly to preserve the warranty i would go with something like this http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.11866
think of it as a usb cover, that doubles as a bluetoothe device. -
Blah, my latent "don't want crap sticking out of my notebook" OCD won't allow me to go that route personally. My first notebook I had a PCMCIA wireless card for a long time until my urges forced me to hunt down a working mini pci wireless card for it and install it and antennas inside the thing.

Ok, well fine be that way , lol.

FWIW optical drive and hd replacement shouldnt void the waranty on anything other than those devices unless you out and out break something doing it. This on the other hand definately voids the waranty (unless you remove it and do a good job taking the thing apart and reassembling, I don't think there are any "void if broken" seals between you and it, just dont leave it in there if the laptop goes out for service...)

Yea, I made that mistake once with my wife's compaq 700us, i put in a 1.3ghz proc in it and it only came with a 900mhz....

I went ahead and bought one of these to put in my 7805u. Thanks for posting the link. Now I just have to wait for it to arrive so I can install it. I'll be sure to post up my results

I would buy one if it didn't take 4 weeks to arrive. But yes, this is definitely the correct adapter.

I'm salty I just ordered the DV9000 one from those guys like 3 days ago before they listed the one with the real short cable. From what I understand the DV cable will work its just long. Mine shipped yesterday so we'll see how long it takes to get here from the PRC.

I bought a car entertainment system (DVD/GPS/Bluetooth-A2DP/iPod/TV/touchscreen, etc) from China late last summer and it took a week by EMS. -
Thoughts? (blue-tooth related)
