Recently got on tigerdirect to see a sale for 7811's and they were cheap! Only problem I seen tiger asked for a 90 day warentee, lucky me I have someone who will warentee it for cheap (got 2 years for $55) and if they cant fix it in 7-10 business days I get my money back. Well I bought 5 of these for family when the sale came back up, sadly sale went off 5 minutes later after I was told they had more then enough in stock since I didn't want to buy them out of these laptops.

Well truth be told, this laptop is pretty much worth every penny, its fast and runs extremely smooth, I overclocked my chip and video card, so far it can handle anything I can throw at it, put Quake 4 in to test the FPS and was running a decent 75 fps on full graphics, not bad for a laptop at all. After all its a desktop replacement.

Now for the bad news, of the first 3 that came in, 2 had dead pixels, not many just one or two, this laptop I am going to keep myself has a single dead pixel in middle of the screen (annoying when screens black or booting trust me) However I bought these refurbished so I can't complain for saving pretty much half off on this laptop for what I got.

Here are specs of what I bought and where I bought it.
Gateway P-7811 FX Refurbished Notebook PC - Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 2.26GHz, 802.11n WLAN, 4GB DDR3, 200GB HDD, DL DVDRW, 17" WUXGA, eSATA, HDMI, Webcam, Windows® Vista Home Premium 64 bit

For $803 this laptop is well worth anyones budget, whether your a gamer or someone who simply surf's fark.com or notebookreview its easily a very good buy.

I paid $750.00 plus $1.99 ship. Why was yours more? Was it the initial cost of the lappy or the shipping?

It was the price, plus the warranty he got, like I paid $911 with warranty.

EDIT: I just realized the 911 part, wonder if I should be worried.

Haha yeah because I am sure that has some sort of effect on the product's performance.

I heard that all the ones sold for 911 are......

I was going to put a funny here but then thought twice as it may be in bad taste. So instead I'll just say.........nothing.

I had a store in my area that had cheap laptops for $911/remember as the price - kicker was if you wanted the laptop that cheap you had to answer what happen on 9/11 (apparently store guys dad died in the attack) anyhow I was curious about the prices being that way, pretty cool though, he was dropping prices from 1250, 1150 to 911, said he lost bunch of money but was worth it in end, i dont think so, idea behind business to get rich no?
