Does anyone else P7805u get EXTREMELY hot?

Mine actually hurts it gets so hot if I leave it on, especially if the screen is closed.

Leave the screen open when it's on (if you can).

    What are the temps?

How long has it been since you blew out the vents with a lot of compressed air?

Is the heat on the palmrest? What parts of the laptop are hot?

If the vents are clogged I recommend taking the computer apart to clean the heat sink fins from the inside. Blowing them from the outside just moves the crud around inside where it'll eventually get stuck in the fans or end up back on the heat sink fins.

If you don't know how, see the disassembly guide in the stickies at the top of this forum.

Haven't had a chance to check the temps.

The palm rests get hot as crap. as well as the keyboard on the right side.

    Been a while since I've air-canned it.

How many HDDs do you have? Hot right palmrests are common as cooling is passive.

Yeah, if you leave your laptop closed then it can get really really REALLY hot, esp if its doing something cpu intensive. It seems it dissipates a significant amount of heat through the keyboard area.
