I recently upgraded with Windows 7Upgrade Disc for NV 58 Series. But my touchpad doesnot have the vertical or horizontal scrolling. I have downloaded the latest driver from Synaptics and still no luck. It shows that the touchpad is connected via PS/2 port.

I have fully uninstalled the driver and reinstalled several times

    any help would be appreciated.

Well on my Gateway P7805u I just installed the Synaptics driver and it worked for me.
Try the driver from gateways site.
