Anyone have two hard drives in their 7805? I'm thinking about getting a 500gb scorpio blue and putting it in... I'm just worried about heat. My hdd runs at 44-50c right now; I don't want to warp the mouse pad part of the laptop (I believe mine's already warping do to the hdd heat but it's minor).

Look in my sig I have 2 hard drive but I have them at RAID 0 so I cant keep track of the temps :( It works just fine for me it gets a little warm but not warm enough where it's going to damage things and I am not using a cooler.

I have 2 of the WD Black's at 7200 RPMs doing raid 0 in mine at the moment. It sits on a glass surface, so the fans are fully open. Performance is excellent, but I am thinking of RAID0 two of the new OCZ vertex. That or build a new desktop system.

What if I keep the laptop on my laptop for most of the time? Mine gets to like 54c when it's on my lap.

As long as your flesh isn't blocking a vent and the spots in contact with aren't uncomfortably hot. I've used mine in the bed before and had no problems.

Alright thanks. Would you guys recommend swapping out the 7200rpm 320gb HDD for the 5400rpm scorpio blue? So I would have two 500gb hdd's and I figure since it spins at 5.4k and has the speed of a 7.2k then it should put out less heat. Right?

Like I said, I have two of the 7200's in mine and have no problems with heat, I do keep it cold in my house(little heat in the winter, lots of AC in the summer)

If its more space you want they have 500GB 7200 RPM hard drives out. Like newegg or tigerdirect. I doubt 7200 RPM hard drives put "that much more" power. If I were you I would go for speed.

Mine's warping as well and some people have said that double 7200s have cause enough warping so that it touches the screen when closed... it's enough warning for me to consider not adding a second harddrive in the extra bay. I've been wondering though, is there a way to put some kind of cooler in the 2nd harddrive slot? Seems doubtful but worth a shot.
