Hey guys, I just received my laptop yesterday and I noticed that I have two program files folders. One is called Program File and the other is called Program File (x86). Is this normal?

lol first time using a 64 bit os eh...
well anyway yes that is normal. the reason there are two is that the program files (x86) is where the os install 32 bit applications. the regular programs files is where the 64 bit applications are installed. i honestly try to avoid installing to these folders and just install to folders i have created

    app
    games
    media
    streaming
    etc.

this makes finding a specific program and game much easier and a much much faster.

haha yes, first time using 64 bit. so my computer will determine whether or not apps im installing is for 32 bit or 64 bit and install it on either folders correect? or do i need to figure it out by myself and assign them to the right folders.

Yeah above it correct. One is for 64 bit apps and other is 32bit.

    Have fun with 64bit Vista!

Both, The program will be 32 or 64 bit. Windows will check if its 32 or 64 bit and put it into the right folder.

Windows is ok but Linux is "more better".

yeah it automagically senses if its 32 or 64 bit on its own and sorts them accordingly but like i said above i would recommend you create your own filing system because itll be much cleaner but more importantly you will know where everything is located.
