-
they'll do movement of packages on weekends from depot to depot, just don't deliver to homes.
-
So the laptop will arrive on monday instead cause it's pretty close to my city/area.
Sounds nice. -
'probably' ...... i've never been one that has deciphered the rhyme or reason in regards to package delivery.
-
Well it's one hour drive away from me so it shouldn't take that long. Actually 40 minutes to be exact I checked it on Google Maps
-
more importantly than you getting it on monday, i hope it WORKS
-
Same, I am going to be so mad if it is horrible same with my parents cause they know how long I have been planning to get a new laptop
-
-
Hmmmmm.....well, all I can do is wait
-
I finally got a date that the laptop is coming it says tomorrow!!
-
great, hope everything turns out ok.

Congradulations. (again)
before too long you'll be up and enjoying your lappy. Hope you get the 1920x1200 screen -
Omg, same but the 1920x1200 ones only came with the older ones, I think they are all out of them now
well at least it is bigger than my 15.4" 1200x800 screen
-
i haven't even used my laptop much since i got it, i just keep running my hand over the slick glossy back of the LCD.
-
Lol, and have you got Oblivion on there yet? If you have, is it fast?
-
I have my 7085u!!!>!>!>! ZOMG ZOMG! LOL!
Ok seriously now. I have a 1900x1200 screen!!!!! OMG ZOMG!!
ummm I didn't say that...
Ok now on for a quick review:
I'm currently on my second back up disc burning. Everything is great, beutiful machine. No complaints. I'm going to treat this laptop like if it is my son. -
Lol, owned by Kamin
Well, how is it so far, trying any games on it? -
The test is on 2 months and a half. But I have to take it seriously. -
Oh very true, I guess I'll test it myself as I said tomorrow. I have to go to EB Games and get CSS again
and Garry's Mod
-
I heard there are problems running oblivion on 64bit vista
-
Oh that sucks, I'll try it out
____________________________________
I googled it and people say it works fine. -
i'll have to try out Oblivion and see if it has issues...Crysis, Battleground, WOW, Nexuiz all run great so far.
-
Are you putting in another HDD or SSD? It's nice that they give the choice of adding another drive
-
i have about $500 paypal (play money) left so, i'm probably going to concentrate on the Blu-Ray and Bluetooth before i do the SSD (both of those for around $110.00)...when Windows 7 comes out i'm hoping the SSD prices will drop a bit more and i can buy one as my primary boot drive (maybe 2). Waiting for Windows 7 because i'm not really in the mood to reload twice between now and October (once for a new SSD and then again to reload Windows with 7).
Btw, copied over my Obilivion from another computer, seems to be working fine, just have to rearrange the save files (and figure out whether 8x AA looks better than HDR). Also really tired of having to leave the Obilivion CD in to play so might try and find a NO-CD .exe to use.
Oh, TrackManiaNations and United work great as well -
Why do you need Bluetooth? I can't believe the SSD prices! Even if they are amazing.
Do you know a laptop cooler for the laptop under 25CAD? -
Bluetooth mainly for true wireless mouse capability..i really don't like those usb devices that tend to get broken after a bit, plus one less USB port being used. I'm using the Rosewill 17 cooler, i got it for around $39.99 US with free shipping.
-
Just get a USB hub
That's what I am planning to get if I need to.
-
well i should have tried to get a cooler with multiple usb ports but was trying to save money...i may have to eventually get a hub anyways
-
So should I get the $60 one which has 4 USB Ports it's the same thing as the $39 one.
-
there's a cooling thread where people hash out which cooler is best, and some say it's not even needed. Up to you really. If you're going to be doing many hours of intense gaming i would think it wouldn't hurt to have a cooler dispersing some of that hot air.
-
Yeah, I game a lot on my laptop
That's why I got it.
-
on Highest Resolution 1600x1200, 4 AA. All Smooth I'm going to install Lost Coast to see how much more I can raise the AA by. -
Nice, can't wait for Oblivion testing, and CSS testing.
-
Got my laptop today and I think I have the 1920x1200 one. I went to the print and details to see and it came up showing that.
I am going to test Oblivion out on the 1400 res though. -
Kamin_Majere =][= Ordo Hereticus
Why not just adjust screen resolution and see for sure.
And if you did, tear out that sucker and trade with me... i have a nice 1440x900 i'll send you from my 6860 -
I checked and it said 1920x1200
and I rather not ship things -

Congradulations on the lappy, now do all of your burn in tests and then start getting to enjoying the thing -
yup
and what discs do I use for backup discs? -
grats on the 1920x1200....i would think on some games though the ingame HUD would be too tiny in 1920x1200...i have a couple games where they're too tiny on a 24" screen.
-
What discs do I use for the Gateway Recovery and which disc do I make the factory default or the driver and application disc?
-
Kamin_Majere =][= Ordo Hereticus
-
DVD or CD-R that's what i mean
sorry to confuse you
and which recovery do you use? -
Kamin_Majere =][= Ordo Hereticus
DVD.
Not sure on teh 78xx series. The 68xx series came with a Vista Home premium disc so all i needed to do was burn my driver recovery. -
Okay thanks
Im just downloading all the programs I had on my old laptop -
Im burning the factory default. and Im gonna test Oblivion just after.
-
you would think when they do a refurb they'd make it possible to create a recovery backup.....aren't these fresh installs?
-
Yeah. my recovery thing doesn't work
But Oblivion runs good at 1440x1200
UPS delivering my refurb 7805U FX today....
