    USB lock-up issues

    I searched the forums but could not find any posts about this. I am having issues with my 7811 FX.

    It is currently base configuration. I am running BIOS 12 with all drivers updated. My video drivers are the newest from nvidia and not one of the modded ones from laptop2go. I run HWmonitor and do not get any high temps or anything unusual.

    Normal stuff does not seem to bother my computer at all. I run Microsoft office and adobe CS3 without issue. The problem is gaming. I have currently installed NHL 2k8, Civilization 4, and COD 4 Modern Warfare. Whenever I game my computer locks up hard when i use any usb accessories. Doesnt matter if its a mouse, controller, anything. Doesnt matter which game or resolution.

    The game generally plays fine for about 2-3 minutes and then locks the computer hard requiring a hard reset (power button). I do not think this is video card related as i can run a game with the keyboard without issue.

    I bought this new from bestbuy and its my second fx. I gave my 6860 to my wife when i got this one and i can not use it for gaming. To try and remedy the issue I have reinstalled windows, updated the bios, reinstalled all drivers, etc. I have contacted Gateway about the issues and they sent me this BS link : http://support.gateway.com/s/Checklists/BPC/ck20071024126.shtml

    I tried uninstalling all usb drivers and running the game with only a controller or mouse with the same effect. Its hopefully a simple fix but i cant seem to find it. Any help is appreciated and thanks for making this an excellent reference for FX owners.
