So I just got my referb P7805u today from tigerdirect and I noticed it game with a load of ing garbage that I didn't need. I already uninstalled all the stuff that I knew I didn't need, but there are some that I'm not sure of Here's a picture of all the programs. If someone can help me weed out the stuff that i don't need I'd be grateful.

I would rather keep AVG Free it's good protection. Read it's review on NBR.

Microsoft Money was Microsoft's personal finance software. It is designed for computers using the Microsoft Windows operating system

It is sort of like Quicken.

Microsoft has recently announced that they are abandoning Money - the program not the real stuff.

I just directly reformatted my FX the same day I got it.... then it was running like brand spanking new (how it should have been, minus all the extra crap they put on them)

i also formatted but instead of vista i went with windows 7.

but in your case i would also erase all codecs install on the laptop and install the combined community codec pack. that pack pretty much contains any codec youll need. alternatively you could install vlc player which has most if not all codecs that cccp does built in.

honestly though unless you spend an immense amount of time looking through you computer and registry youll never get rid of all of one program by uninstalling it. the best option would be to do a clean format and re install. i know that may not be possible but the only other thing i can say is erase everything on that list and reinstall anything you need. (this way not only are you sure only the stuff you need is on it but also that the latest drivers are installed as well.)

How would one go about formatting the entire disk an installing Windows 7 RC on it?

Do I have to download Windows 7 and burn it on a disc?

And what program should I use to format the entire disc or will I have that option while installing Windows 7?

I know that back in the day all you had to do is go into DOS and type format c: but know it seems like windows will not allow you to format its files.

    I would appreciate your help.

    Thanks

BTW just got my p-7805u FX.
