Run CPUz and find out the chipset ?
    What CPU is installed ?

EDIT: NVM....Here are the specs of your notebook..Correct ?

You can only install Socket M CPUs. (Socket Ps are not compatible)

What is your current config ?

I have a t5500@ 1.66ghz and was just looking into getting a better cpu thanks for your quick reply sorry it took so long to get back to you i had to go to work, another question does anyone know if the graphics card is upgradable in this I have read stuff on mxm i think and axion but no definite answers on whether or not i can. I am looking into the ati x1400 because i have the intel setup right now and would like more dedicated graphics Again thank you all for your help

You can only install Socket M C2Ds, so I guess a T7200/T7400 will be a nice upgrade, but you won't notice much of a boost in overall performance, only in intensive tasks. You'd be better off upgrading the RAM and the HDD....

Intel setup ? - You cannot upgrade integratd graphics....
